# Introduction

Smoke is a cross-chain credit card protocol that allows users to deposit some collateral on one chain and ***instantly*** spend on 1000+ chains.

> Never Bridge Again - Sand

It is not a physical card or a Visa digital card, instead it's an on-chain card. Smoke is the Visa on-chain. It will allow for seamless movement of funds just like how Visa revolutionized payments around the world.

You can get credit *either by building up your credit score or by depositing some collateral*. In the initial versions, we plan to only support collateralised lending across chains.
